Terms of business for the Olafun website
These terms apply to anybody who opens the Olafun website. It makes no difference whether you read a page, print one out, send it to a colleague or write to us through the form on the Get in touch page: using the site means agreeing to what is set out below.
The short version is that the material here belongs to us, that you may use it for your own purposes and should ask before using it for anybody else's, that it is written to be read rather than relied on, and that we may change the pages and these terms. If any of that does not work for you, the plain answer is to stop here and get in touch instead.
Who owns the material on this site
The text on this site, and the pictures published beside it, belong to Olafun or are used with the permission of whoever made them. Copyright covers all of it, including pages that have since been rewritten or taken down.
You may read the pages, save or print a copy for yourself, quote a short passage with this site named as its source, and pass a link to somebody who needs it. None of that needs our say-so, and you do not need to tell us you have done it.
Anything past those uses is a different matter. Copying a whole page onto another site, republishing our text under somebody else's name, putting it into advertising or into a document you charge for, and taking the pictures out of context all need our permission first. Write to [email protected] saying what you want to do and we will settle it there; being asked is always easier than untangling it afterwards.
What the site is written for, and what it is not
Everything published here is general by nature. A page is written for anybody who lands on it, and what applies in your particular case turns on details no website can see from here. That is not a disclaimer written out of nervousness; it is simply how a published page differs from a conversation.
So nothing on the site is a quotation, an offer held open for you, or advice given to you personally. Where a page touches on cost, it touches on what the cost depends on rather than on what you would pay, and an example lifted from a page and applied to your own situation is the usual way a reasonable number goes wrong.
Talk to us before you decide anything on the strength of what you have read. The form on the Get in touch page reaches us directly, and so does [email protected]. Describe what you are dealing with and you will get an answer about that, not a restatement of an article.
Our responsibility, and how these terms change
We keep the pages as accurate and as current as we can, and we correct what we are told is wrong. What we do not promise is that the site is free of mistakes, that every page is up to the minute, or that it is always reachable.
We are not answerable for loss arising from using the site, or from being unable to use it, beyond what the law allows us to exclude. Where the site points to a page we do not run, what stands there is its owner's business and their terms apply, not ours.
These terms say nothing about the personal details you send us. What happens to your name and your message is a separate question and a separate document, and it is the one to read if you want the detail rather than the summary.
We may revise this page when the site changes or when we find a clearer way to say the same thing, and the version standing here is the one that applies from the moment it is published. If it has been a while since you read it, have another look; if a change worries you, the same two routes are open, the form on the Get in touch page and [email protected].
